Idafar presented with gem of a gift
Menasheh Idafar has spoken of his sheer delight after receiving a special gift from Bahrain’s Al-Mudaifa Jewels W.L.L in celebration of his first career pole position in the Formula Renault BARC Championship. The 17-year-old British-born Bahraini racer is rapidly gaining a big following in the Middle East and, as such, was presented earlier this week with an Oris Williams F1 Team Chronograph wristwatch in recognition of the outstanding debut pole position which he achieved during round two qualifying at Brands Hatch in late March. On behalf of Menasheh’s burgeoning group of supporters, Bahrain’s official Oris agent Al-Mudaifa Jewels W.L.L happily handed the stunning wristwatch to Menasheh which he has worn with great pride since!“It’s absolutely fantastic to have been given this wonderful gift”, said Menasheh, “I really am very grateful to all of the supporters at home in Bahrain who are cheering me on and keeping a close eye on my racing in the UK.“I would like to thank all of them for their kindness and I also wish to send my sincere gratitude to Al-Mudaifa Jewels. The Formula Renault BARC season has started very well for me and I aim to continue flying the flag for Bahrain as we try to achieve more good results during the rest of the season.”Following his maiden career pole start at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit in March, Menasheh went on to head the grid again during round three qualifying at Rockingham just under a fortnight ago.Furthermore, of the four races contested so far this season the talented youngster has finished on the podium every time and is currently second in the Formula Renault BARC Championship standings, just six points shy of the overall lead. Round five of the 2008 Formula Renault BARC season is now just under four weeks away, taking place on Spring Bank Holiday Monday, 26th May, at Oulton Park Island Circuit in Cheshire. Menasheh drives, of course, for the race-winning Hillspeed team and is backed by Gulfol, Ortolan and Gulf Computer Services.
