Trident GP2 Istanbul Preview

The Gp2 Main Series is ready to get back on-track as soon as this weekend in Turkey, for the second round of the 2008 season set to take place at Istanbul Park.

Trident Racing will be return racing after an accurate preparatory work, in order to score a better team result than happened at Barcelona. The weekend at Istanbul will start on Friday, with a 30-minute practice session at 11:00 AM, while qualifications will follow in the afternoon, at 3:00 PM. Race 1 will have the same start time on Saturday, with a planned distance of 34 laps, while shorter 23-lap Race 2 will take place on Sunday Morning at 10:30 AM.Alessandro Alunni Bravi, Managing Director

“The Istanbul Park racetrack requires different skills than Barcelona, but it`s still one of the most selective and complex in our circuit for both the drivers and the racecars. Bridgestone will be introducing a new "soft" tire, replacing the "hard-compound" provided at Barcelona, and I think that all the teams will opt for a lower downforce and use a medium aero set-up.

"There`ll be many elements to keep control of, and that might be reversing some of the values seen in the season opener. Trident Racing is really looking forward to Istanbul, carrying the optimism for the results of Spain`s Race 2, and knowing that no more bad breaks will be allowed”.
