Al Ain Superleague entry....

TO INSPIRE YOUNG DRIVERS

Leading Middle East rally hero Mohammed Bin Sulayem has thrown his support behind the Al Ain football club's entry into Superleague Formula.

Bin Sulayem attended Monday's fan unveiling at Sheikh Khalifa International Stadium - taking a close look at the 750 horsepower, V12 powered single seater.

A 14-time winner of the FIA Middle-East Rally Championship, Bin Sulayem also established UAE Desert Challenge which has gone on to become the final round of the FIA Cross-Country Rally World Cup.

"This is a very important development for this region because while rallying has always been big here, and now we have a number of road racing circuits, this will be a representative of the region taking part at the highest level on a world stage," Bin Sulayem said.

"This will certainly inspire young drivers in this part of the world - they will want to one day represent the Al Ain club.

"While my career has concentrated on rallying, I would love to get the chance to try the car - that would be fantastic experience."

Al Ain fans celebrated the club's entry into Superleague Formula with a victory on the pitch against Al Nasr 2-1.
