Are you a born racer?

Do not be fooled into thinking a racing driver was born destined to race high performance cars on circuits all around the world. Most started off with  day-to-day jobs and some of them keep their original careers alongside racing.

Take the reigning British Touring Car (BTCC) Champion and touring car legend, Fabrizio Giovanardi, who is a trained builder and nearly followed into his father’s footsteps to take over the family business. Giovanardi still enjoys this craft and has only recently finished building his own finca in Tuscany.

VX Racing’s Matt Neal is a successful business man while Tom Onslow-Cole works in a warehouse distributing sport and fitness equipment. Yvan Muller,  ex-Vauxhall works driver and BTCC Champion, started as a truck driver before discovering his talent for racing.

There is nothing stopping you from entering a nationwide search to discover the country’s latest racing driver talent. You could be a window cleaner, a bus driver or a school teacher; the horizon is wide open for you to explore new territories and become Britain’s hottest racing driver property.

For your chance to win a fully-paid race seat in a UK-based motorsport championship, simply visit vxrdriver.co.uk and fill in a short questionnaire and skills assessment test to qualify for the next round.

The competition is open to all drivers over the age of 21 who have never held a race licence; but be quick you must enter by 27 June 2008.

From all entries 1,620 successful applicants will be put through their paces in the karting semi-finals before 15 finalists are selected for the intensive three-day final, which will decide the 2008 VXR Racing Driver of the Year.
