In just a few months, The British Steam Car Team faces a huge challenge. The world steam powered record was previously set in 1906 by Fred Marriott. It is the longest standing land speed record recognised by the FIA, where Marriott recorded an average of 128mph over a measured mile in a Stanley Steamer.

The car has earned support from many leading industry figures including Damon Hill OBE, Richard Noble - Team Principal for Thrust SCC, and the World Land Speed Record holder Squadron Leader Andy Green.
