Motors TV - August Highlights

Channel 413 on Sky Digital and 545 on Virgin Media

HECTIC SCHEDULE FOR THE AMERICAN LE MANS SERIES!In more ways than one, August is the ‘hottest’ month of the year for endurance racing in the USA. While the summer temperatures soar stateside, the ALMS hosts three race meetings in just four weekends!

In no way will the action be any less spectacular or frenetic than normal in the wake of the Le Mans 24 Hours, with Audi having no time to rest on its laurels as the Porsche Spyders of Penske and Dyson Racing and the four teams running Acuras, look to take the scalp of the Le Mans winners!

The first of August’s three meetings takes place at Road America; without doubt the most beautiful circuit in America and some say a rival to Europe’s finest track, Spa-Francorchamps.

The second meeting is at Mosport, a small, tight and ultra-fast Canadian venue, and will be screened LIVE on Motors TV.

The final meeting is also LIVE and takes place on the streets of Detroit, just six days after Mosport.

With every kind of taste catered for, the sounds and smells of American racing will be drifting onto the High Speed Television channel this August!

The fourth round of the Le Mans Series takes place on 17 August and will be the first time the two fabled manufacturers have met since their fierce battle in La Sarthe. Despite their fighter-plane-shaped car, Peugeot lost victory at Le Mans to their experienced and efficient rivals. Two months later they meet again for this 1000km race, which promises to be equally as exciting. German marque Audi may have home advantage at the Nurburgring, but the Peugeot boasts the greater speed. With a maximum time limit of six hours, the 908s will be hoping they can avoid trouble and take a victory which might lessen their Le Mans disappointment.
