Parr joins Carrera Cup pro-am2 field

Parr Motorsport will join the pro-am2 category of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Snetterton (12/13 July) with a three-car team for Glynn Geddie, Steve Rance and Robin Clark. Both Geddie and Rance have raced in a VIP car in the Carrera Cup already this season, but will now compete in their own cars for the first time, while Clark steps up from the Porsche Open to make his Carrera Cup debut.Geddie, the 17-year old from Aberdeen, was the revelation of the recent Croft Carrera Cup races, showing tremendous natural speed and ability despite very limited race experience. He now plans to contest more Carrera Cup races this season with a view to a full campaign in 2009.Rance, meanwhile, earned his weekend in the VIP car at Brands Hatch in March as reward for his success in the Porsche Open Series last year. Having shown excellent speed, he is now returning to the Carrera Cup for at least the Snetterton races in his own 911GT3 Cup car.Kent-based Clark will complete the driver line-up for a try-out in the Carrera Cup, having only started racing last season in the Porsche Open. All three drivers will race in the pro-am2 category, which is for cars from before the 2008 season. Parr Motorsport has an extensive competition history with Porsche, having competed at Le Mans and won at international level in GT racing. The team now hopes to have an on-going representation in pro-am2 through into 2009.
