ONeill to race in Carrera Cup

at Oulton Park Paul O'Neill will race in rounds 13 and 14 of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB at his home track of Oulton Park (26/27 July), returning to the series in the PCGB entry in the pro category.O'Neill, originally from Liverpool, is one of Britain's most versatile racers and is a former touring car race winner at Oulton Park. He will tell the story of his races in the 911GT3 Cup car in a feature for Motorsport News, one of Britain's leading motor sport magazines."It will be great to race with Porsche again," said O'Neill. "I'm really looking forward to racing the latest car and I want to repay them for giving me the chance to race a quick car. The last time I raced the Porsche at Oulton in 2006 was something else. The car is extraordinary."O'Neill has driven a variety of cars already this season, several of them for Motorsport News. " I've been very fortunate to race a few different cars and this will be my fourth race at Oulton Park this year."Paul knows that the Carrera Cup competition is tough, but hopes to be able to run with the leading drivers. "I want to go out and enjoy it. If I could get a top five, that would be very good," he said. "But the guys in the pro class are exceptional and they can all win races."O'Neill will have his first run in the 2008-model 911GT3 Cup car during testing at Oulton Park on the Friday of the race weekend.
