Fiskens prepared for a Classic

After an unforgettable opening meeting at Monza in June, the Fiskens-supported RAC Woodcote Trophy is preparing for another memorable weekend at one of Europe’s most prestigious historic festivals, the Silverstone Classic.

The Home of British Motorsport will play host to a feast of historic-racing action as 700 stunning sportscars, Grand Prix cars, single seaters and saloons gather for a selection of nostalgia-inducing races. The Woodcote Trophy, a series for genuine post-war sports-racers, up to and including December 1955, takes pride of place on the event schedule and will also enjoy live television coverage with the race screened live on Motors TV.

As ever, organisers Motor Racing Legends have assembled a breathtaking grid, with demand meaning the event is over-subscribed for the Silverstone weekend. A 46-car entry will include an impressive five Jaguar D-Types, three Jaguar C-Types and five Aston Martin DB3s’.

Fiskens’ Managing Director Gregor Fisken summarised the thoughts of all the Fiskens team by saying: “It looks set to be another remarkable weekend for the RAC Woodcote Trophy and we’re delighted to be involved. There are too many special motorcars to pick out just one, but the size of the grid just highlights how historic motorsport continues to thrive.

“Motor Racing Legends do a marvellous job on the organisational side and the quality of driving standards is exceptional. The racing will be too close to call and I certainly wouldn’t like to have to pick a winner!”

As well as the Woodcote Trophy races, the Silverstone Classic hosts 19 other races including FIA Historic Formula One, the Group C Series and World Sportscar Masters and the Fiskens team will be out in force in the paddock throughout the weekend.

The Woodcote Trophy will be screened live on Motors TV (Sky Channel 413, Virgin Media 545) on Saturday 26 July at 11:50.
