Successful outing for Reynolds ..

in Swansea Bay Rally

Hankook rally driver Julian Reynolds was on top form at the weekend for the Swansea Bay Rally with the Welsh driver recording a top five result.

A steady start saw Reynolds and co-driver Patrick Walsh comfortably inside the top 10 on the morning stages but the pair really impressed the crowds during the afternoon tests with an outstanding performance to reach the top five, and pick up fourth place in the Gravel Rally Championship.

With six tough stages in South Wales the rally visited forests also used on Wales Rally GB and perfectly suited Julian’s driving style in the Hankook Subaru.

“It was really tough to get everything flowing in the morning but we really settled into the stages in the afternoon as the stages dried,’’ he said. “We were within a second of setting a fastest time on the final stage so we were pleased with the performance.’’

Hankook motorsports manager Mike Patterson said he was delighted with Julian’s success in some extremely tricky conditions. “Some of the stages were wet while on others dust was a problem,’’ he said. “Once again the Hankook tyres excelled in the changeable conditions.’’

Julian’s next outing is Rally Yorkshire in September.
