British F3 Challenge Cup
Two wins in Rounds 17 & 18 of the 2008 British F3 International Series at Silverstone gave Oliver Turvey a nine point lead in the overall championship and also gave the 21-year-old enough points to secure the inaugural Mirror.co.uk British F3 Challenge Cup, which is awarded to the top British driver in the Series.
The 21-year-old from Penrith has been the top British driver in twelve of the eighteen races held so far this season, giving him a total of 156 points, 60 ahead of Max Chilton with only a maximum of 44 points still to be won.
"I'm extremely pleased to be confirmed as the top British driver in the championship, especially as we have been racing at the Home of British Motor Racing and the British Racing Drivers Club (BRDC)," said Oliver Turvey. "For British racing drivers to have the support of a national newspaper like the Daily Mirror is very important and for me to win the Mirror.co.uk British F3 Challenge Cup in the first year of this new initiative is extremely gratifying."
