DTM Lewis Hamilton To Guest Star

At Brands Hatch

The world’s fastest touring cars will be coming to Kent on 29-31 August when Brands Hatch hosts the DTM (German Touring Car Championship), in the series’ only UK race - and Formula 1 superstar Lewis Hamilton will be making a raceday appearance at the circuit.

DTM is known for its powerful, fire-spitting vehicles and its fierce competition between manufacturers Audi and Mercedes. Germany’s Timo Scheider currently leads the standings in his Audi A4, but he faces a strong challenge from British Mercedes driver Jamie Green, who is just four points adrift in second place after scoring two victories already this season.

There are six home-grown hopes in the DTM this year including Bromley’s Gary Paffett, who will have strong support from the crowd at his local circuit. He will be joined by Mercedes’ Paul di Resta and Audi’s Oliver Jarvis. There will also be two female drivers flying the Union Flag – Katherine Legge and Susie Stoddardt.

DTM has attracted many high profile names in recent years and among the stars competing at Brands Hatch this August will be former F1 drivers Ralf Schumacher and Christjan Albers.

As well as racing from the DTM, Formula 1 superstar Lewis Hamilton will be making a raceday visit to Brands Hatch. Hamilton will be performing some demonstration laps in his Vodafone McLaren Mercedes F1 car and taking part in a special autograph signing session.

There will also be support races including the Henderson Formula Palmer Audi Championship, F3 Euro Series and Pickup Truck racing.

Tickets for DTM at Brands Hatch on 29-31 August cost from £25 for adults, with free entry for children aged 12 and under. For more information call 0870 950 9000 or visit brandshatch.co.uk.
