Bikes: Donington Points for Bridewell

Wiltshire rider Tommy Bridewell defied the damp and overcast conditions to score an eleventh place finish in yesterday's Suzuki GSX-R European Cup at Donington Park.

After missing the opening qualifying session held in wet conditions, Bridewell posted nineteenth fastest time to start from row five of the grid and despite the damp track he battled with the leading bunch in the opening stages.

However, as the race progressed Tommy slipped back to finish in eleventh position at the end of the ten laps, not able to secure the top ten position which he was hoping for at his home race.

"I did what I needed to do to bring the bike home in very difficult conditions.  The weather has been against us all weekend and I've not really had a good feel for the bike so scoring points was the main objective for the weekend.  We'll move on to Misano with the Italian Superbikes in a couple of weeks time and hope for a good result there."
