Idafar Tests FRUK Again At Oulton

Emerging single-seater racer Menasheh Idafar returned to the cockpit of a Formula Renault UK car at Oulton Park International Circuit on Friday, 12th September, and continued to make impressive progress.Taking the opportunity to run in Hillspeed’s 2008-specification Formula Renault UK car for the third time in as many weeks, the British-born Bahraini lapped strongly and ended the test with an unofficially timed best lap of 1m 36.3 seconds at the 2.7-mile venue.Menasheh’s driver coach, British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC) Rising Star Matt Shawyer said: “Oulton Park went very well, Menasheh did a good job and we were very pleased with his performance. The track was greasy early on after some rain and when it dried in the afternoon the circuit conditions still weren’t the best so it wasn’t a bad run at all.”Competing in the 10th round of the Formula Renault BARC Championship at Thruxton Circuit in Hampshire last weekend and making his test debut at the wheel of a National Class Formula 3 car at Pembrey in South Wales a few days prior, the 17-year-old has been lucky enough to sample a variety of single-seaters of late. The Gulf Computer Services, Gulfol and Ortolan backed racer’s next competitive outing will come on 4th/5th October at Silverstone National Circuit in Northamptonshire for the finale of the 2008 Formula Renault BARC Championship, rounds 11 and 12.
