DC to celebrate career at Autosport NEC

David Coulthard, Formula One’s top British scoring driver, will be celebrating his career at the Autosport International Show in Birmingham next January.

As part of the celebration, Autosport International will display cars and karts from the David Coulthard Museum, bringing the priceless machines down from Twynholm to the show’s audience at the NEC.

“Autosport International has been a regular event for me over the years,” said the Scot. “It’s quite fitting that we should collaborate on displaying the cars that I have been lucky to drive throughout the years; I have been at the show at the beginning of most of the seasons that will be represented!”

A collection of seven cars and two karts, highlighting Coulthard’s career from karting in the 80s to his current Formula One successes, will be displayed, including the recently-acquired Red Bull Racing RB2 which he drove to podium glory in Monaco 2006.

The Scot will be present for both public days of the show, on 10-11 January 2009. In addition to giving interviews on the Autosport central stage, Coulthard will take part in autograph signing sessions at the driver signing area and F1 Racing display.

“We are extremely pleased to celebrate David’s illustrious career with him,” said Haymarket Exhibitions’ Show Director Ian France. “I’m sure fans will be delighted to see the cars he raced throughout his career displayed at the show. We feel this will be a fitting tribute to his outstanding Formula One racing career.”
