Daniel Lloyd made an excellent start to the final weekend of the 2008 Ginetta Junior season at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit this afternoon, Friday, 19th September, by posting the second fastest time in official pre-event testing.All set to conclude the 60 minute session as the quickest driver with a lap of 58.336 seconds (73.96mph), the 16-year-old multiple race winner was pipped right at the end by title contender Thomas Carnaby who lapped just 0.013 seconds faster.In dry and sunny conditions, Scammonden based Daniel produced a superbly consistent performance today at the Kent venue and prepared well for the final two rounds of the Ginetta Junior Championship – the second race to be screened live on Freeview, digital satellite and cable channel ITV4 on Sunday, 21st September, at 12.25.Speaking after today’s track outing, the British Racing Drivers’ Club (BRDC) Stars Of Tomorrow Scholarship Winner said: “I really enjoyed today’s run, the car felt very good and I felt quite confident with the track. We’ve definitely improved since we were at Brands at the start of the season but there’s a bit more time to come I think.“Everything felt comfortable today and we were able to put in consistent times all the way through the session. Obviously, I’d love to take a win this weekend to end the year on a high and if we can continue this level of performance we stand a good chance. We’ll just have to see how things go in qualifying tomorrow morning.”Heading into rounds 23 and 24 of the campaign, the West Yorkshire racer is fourth in the championship standings and has taken three race victories so far. He’ll certainly be aiming to make at least one more visit to the rostrum this weekend at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit.Qualifying for the final two races of the Ginetta Junior Championship season will take place at 11.15 tomorrow, Saturday, 20th September, with round 23 following at approximately 16.25.
