RYAN Sullivan has failed to extend his contract with Peterborough in timefor next week's relegation race-off with Wolverhampton.Panthers have booked Ipswich's Rory Schlein as a guest replacement and theyare upset with Sullivan's decision.Co-promoter Mick Bratley said: "We're disappointed with Ryan's stance, hisclub of many years standing needs him. At the same time we offer Rory ourthanks for standing in at a vital time."

SPEEDWAY 2) SHEFFIELD skipper An dre Compton has announced his retirement at the age ofjust 31.Compton has business interests away from the sport and admits some of theenjoyment has gone out of his racing.Said Compton: "I've loved riding for Sheffield, it's been a very specialtime for me, the sport has been a big part of my life. However, the time hascome for me to do other things."
