Team Modena ‘Best in GT1’

Declares Autosport

Prestigious motorsport magazine Autosport recently declared Team Modena ‘the best team in GT1’ in their 2008 Le Mans Series review, the accolade coming in a LM GT1 class review that focussed on the damage done to the team’s title hopes by the non-finish in the opening LMS race in Barcelona. Team Modena’s Aston Martin DBR9, crewed by Antonio Garcia and Tomas Enge won three of the remaining four races after Barcelona, and consistently showed themselves to be the quickest driver and car combination in the class.

The Autosport feature referred to second in both the teams and drivers championships as ‘poor reward for the best driver pairing and best team in GT1’, pleasing recognition of the efforts of the team and drivers to turn round their initial points deficit.

“It is great that Autosport have recognised the work put in by all the guys in the team over the season,” said Team Principal Graham Schultz. “Rik [team Sporting Director Rik Bryan] and I have been extremely pleased with how things have gone this year, and we are looking forward to the challenges that next season will offer.”
