Farnbacher Loles Laguna Seca preview

Farnbacher Loles Racing hopes to wrap the 2008 American Le Mans Series season with a strong showing at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, Calif. Bryce Miller of Summit, N.J., and Dirk Werner of Kissenbrück, Germany, will be behind the wheel of the No. 87 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, looking to match their victory at Road America in August.

Werner's parents, Harald and Martina Werner, will travel from their home in Germany to see their son in action. The Oct. 19 ALMS race on the 2.238-mile Laguna Seca road course will be the first they've seen in North America.

"I hope for a result that shows how good the team was during the whole season," Dirk Werner said. "I'm looking forward to racing on this track because I really like the layout and I think it's a great venue for the season finale. And I'm happy that finally, in my second year of racing in America, my parents will get to see me racing."

IMSA Challenge

Farnbacher Loles Racing will also prepare two Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars for IMSA Challenge by Michelin races at Laguna Seca, set for Oct. 19 and 20. Darrell Carlisle of McLean, Va., will drive the No. 43 Porsche and Ben McCrackin of Corpus Christi, Texas, will drive the No. 81 Porsche.

McCrackin will host three special guests at Laguna Seca – a successful auction bidder and his family. For the past two years, McCrackin has donated a hands-on track day to the March of Dimes charity. This year, he added a trip to California to watch the final IMSA Challenge races of the season.

"Last year, it went for $3500 and this year for $4000," McCrackin reported. "We raised $4000 for the March of Dimes by doing the at-track day. This year we added a trip to Laguna Seca, so they'll join me at the last race, then have a day at the track in Texas when we get back. They will get to drive a series of race cars, culminating with the Porsche Cup car."

global support

The No. 87 Farnbacher Loles Porsche will sport a new decal on the hood, recognizing the Love146 organization. Love146 implements and supports global campaigns, programs and projects that effectively enact change against child sex trafficking and offer victims the opportunity for restoration. Vikki Loles, daughter of team owners Gregory and Popi Loles, works with the Love146 group in North America.
