Supermodels Search for V8 Utes Glory

The V8 Supermodel’s are currently at Indy on the Gold Coast to battle for a spot in the 2010 Century Batteries V8 Utes and Beauts Calendar.

Over 150 girls entered the 2008 competition, which has been running since June with heats all over Australia and New Zealand and only fourteen finalists remain.

Twelve of the fourteen girls will be selected to be a part of the V8 Utes and Beauts Calendar and only one girl will claim the V8 Ute Grid Girl title, which includes; A Portfolio, Dirty Dog Eyewear Sunglasses, a range of Swimwear from Babelife.com, $500 cash and their very own website hosted by pac.net.au.

A few of the girls have already had their chance to feel the rev’s of the V8’s and see the inside of a garage when they were photographed earlier in the week by new calendar photographer’s Richard Mamamdo and Tyrone Fitzgerald.

Pacific Enterprises, director Anna Lagerstedt is very pleased with this year’s talent and is overjoyed at the girls’ excitement for the cars.

“They are fantastic girls and they love the Utes. You don’t always get girls that really enjoy the cars but these girls are all like that,” said Lagerstedt.

The girls will also have the chance to be a grid girl at one of the race meets during the 2009 Yokohama V8 Utes Racing Series.

Currently ranked fifth in the Series after an impressive run at Bathurst (second place finish in race two), Ryal Harris will be happy to put his feet up for a while and enjoy the race in his local town.

“It is good to be watching Indy as I haven’t had a chance in a while. It also gives me a good opportunity to do some work for my sponsor, Global Traders,” said Harris.

Harris and other local driver, Rhys Hansford will be on hand to judge the final of the V8 Supermodel Search at Shooters nightclub, Thursday, 23rd October.

Round Eight and the final round of the 2008 Yokohama V8 Utes Racing Series will be held at Oran Park, Sydney 4 – 7 December with Race Two televised live on the Seven Network.
