Motors TV January Highlights

(Sky Channel 413, Virgin Media 545) AMA Supercross

The category has everything required to entertain the large crowds which gather both trackside and in front of their TV sets, with its bumps, jumps and whoops. The main protagonists have always been viewed as international stars of motor sport, the likes of which include: Jean-Michel Bayle, Jeff Stanton, Jeremy McGrath, Ricky Carmichael and more….

A predominance of riders from the USA shows just how important this type of racing is State-side where the AMA Supercross championship is a phenomenal success, every year filling the stadiums it visits.

Their new super star is James Stewart. The man who shares his name with a former Hollywood legend is the Tiger Woods of Supercross. He came very close to winning everything in 2007 and 2008 as he became the main beneficiary of the retirement of Ricky Carmichael.

Will 2009 see a repeat? Find out as Motors TV brings AMA Supercross highlights of the main Open and Lites categories, every Tuesday from 7pm, starting on January 27th.

AMA Supercross Open and Lites - Round 1, Angel Stadium – Tuesday 27 January at 7pm.

Autosport International Racing Car ShowIt’s the most important date of the off-season: the Autosport International Show at Birmingham’s NEC. Autosport is THE motorsport magazine in Great Britain and every year those responsible for this ‘bible’ of the sport organise the country’s most important Racing Car show. Everyone and everything that matters in motorsport is present, coming together to meet the public and enjoy the exhibitions, conferences and of course the traditional charity kart race…

Motors TV UK is the official television partner of Europe’s biggest date for motorsport professionals. Our reporters will pound the floors of the NEC exclusively for the ‘High Speed Television’ channel bringing the best bits of the show to three special programmes, two of 26 minutes (the 1st one even before the show opening to the general public) and the other of 52 minutes. This is not to be missed!

Autosport Show, Friday and Saturday, 9 and 10 January at 10pm and Sunday 17 January at 8pm.

CORRCORR, Championship Off-Road Racing, is cross-country racing at its most spectacular and the fastest form of the discipline in the USA, all featured on the ‘High Speed Television’ channel.

Competing in 4x4 buggies, CORR takes place at motocross-type tracks located in Los Angeles, San Diego and Las Vegas. The discipline is also divided into two ‘conferences’: CORR (with three separate categories) and WSORR (World Series Off-Road Racing).

Manufacturer involvement shows just how important this series is viewed in the USA and highlights of the exciting fourth season begin this January on Motors TV.

Starting in January, all of 2008’s eight rounds will feature on Motors TV in a special programme on Monday evenings.

CORR + WSORR – Monday 5, 12 and 19 January, starting at 9pm and the 26 January at 9.30pm.

ARCAStock car championship ARCA takes its lead from NASCAR and is unofficially the second division of the USA’s most popular motorsport discipline, mostly using the same circuits including the mythical Daytona.

Drivers destined for NASCAR’s Sprint Cup traditionally cut their teeth in ARCA first. Juan Pablo Montoya, Jacques Villeneuve and Indy 500 winner Dario Franchitti have all competed here while this season ex-F1 driver Scott Speed has been the star of the series. The one time Toro Rosso man was anything but a bit part player during an impressive first year in stock cars.

Motors TV brings the story of the 2008 ARCA season with highlights every Saturday evening at 9pm.
