Masters gears up for 2009

Masters Historic Racing is all set to offer its competitors a considerate yet condensed racing calendar for 2009.  Designing a 2009 season taking into account current economic conditions, continuing to offer quality racing on quality circuits, Masters aims to offer varied and interesting racing.

Although the final calendar has yet to be fully confirmed, Masters Historic Racing is set to run two of its own UK Festivals in 2009.  With a return to Donington on May 9/10 and then to Brands Hatch GP over the weekend of May 23-25, both Masters Festivals will have the usual full array of grids.  After that, various Masters grids will play a role in the Silverstone Classic (July 25-27), moving on to the Oldtimer Grand Prix (August 7-9), with four large grids at the Spa Six Hours meeting (September 25-27), and also at the new Algarve circuit, Portimao (October 17/18)

In addition, other events are being considered in continental Europe during June and July, which should be announced shortly after January 1st.

The UK-based Top Hat Racing competitors’ calendar is already confirmed. After the Goodwood track days on February 27/28, Snetterton will play host to the first full Top Hat Raceday of 2009, on March 21. The Oldies but Goldies & Pre-66 Saloons will join in the Masters Festival at Donington on May 9/10, and as in 2008, there will be a Top Hat Raceday at Brands Indy Hatch on May 23 as part of that weekend’s Festival. Further racing for Top Hat grids are planned for Castle Combe (June 13), Silverstone for the Bentley Drivers Club (August 8/9), Spa (September 25-27) and the traditional Finals Day Top Hat Raceday at Mallory Park on October 25.

The Masters 2009 Calendar, 2009 Technical and Sporting Regulations, as well as all the specific event details will be published shortly.
