WOLVERHAMPTON will step up contract talks with last season’s skipper Freddie Lindgren when he returns from holiday.Lindgren has hinted at a possible return to Monmore Green but talks have been held up during the festive spell.Promoter Chris Van Straaten said: “Freddie’s been enjoying a well deserved break in Thailand and we have only communicated by e-mail so far. Hopefully we can sort things out soon.”

SHEFFIELD are set to finalise their 2009 team plans within the next week.The Owlerton side now know their target and an announcement is due shortly.Tigers co-promoter David Hoggart said: “The final signing is just as important as the first and we’ve held constructive talks with a rider I believe can slot in and do a very good job for us in what will be an important season.”

FORMER world champion Gary Havelock has agreed terms to stay with his local club Redcar for next season.Havelock, who lifted the sport's ultimate prize in 1992, completed the deal over Christmas with his father and club boss Brian.Said Brian: "Gary is a vital piece in the team jigsaw and I'm sure all Bears fans are thrilled with the news. We can't wait for the new season!"(SPEEDWAY 4)NEW Birmingham signing Ludvig Lindgren is desperate to match his big brother Freddie - by becoming a Grand Prix star.Lindgren, 18, raced a handful of meetings in the Elite League with Wolverhampton last season.He said: "I want to become as good as my brother, my aim is to get into the Grand Prix and then beat him! My move to Birmingham is good for me at this stage."
