Those who watched Motors TV’s comprehensive AIS coverage in January will have noticed a glaring omission from the three-part programme; the annual charity kart race. Well, it turns out there was a very good reason for that. We thought instead of squeezing it in between a couple of interviews and model in gratuitous pose, why not show proper highlights? And that’s exactly what we’ve done. Expect the cream of motorsport to link up with a pair of rookies as 18 teams battle it out inside the NEC for three good causes.

What weekly listing would be complete without a spot of AMA Supercross? No Motors TV listing that’s for sure which is why I bring you word of the championship’s fourth round from the Reliant Stadium in Texas where as you’d expect, there’s coverage of both the Open and Lites classes.

GT Academy The second part of virtual reality’s only real-life motorsport mash-up comes to your TV screens this week as the GT Academy hopefuls are put through their paces. Each must first prove their worth on the Daddy of all racing sims, Gran Turismo, before any of them can even dream of partnering former F1 winner Johnny Herbert in the real Dubai 24 Hours. GT Academy, Part 2Sunday, 15th February, 20:30Targa NewfoundlandThis week’s prize for most obscure motorsport-based programme goes to Targa Newfoundland, a kind of Gumball Rally with a twist. Competitors travel across 2200Km of Canadian countryside taking in the sort of spectacular scenery only found in North America; Redwood Forests, Glaciers, Ray Mears, that sort of thing. But if the drive itself is a little leisurely for your tastes then the organizers have added a smattering of timed stages – comprising about 20% of the overall distance – so that drivers can really test their ability on closed public roads. Expect the usual array sportscar exotica to give the Mounties a right old surprise. Targa NewfoundlandSaturday, 14th February, 16:00
ARCA
It’s the eighth consecutive week of ARCA on Motors TV which unsurprisingly means that we’re up to round eight of the 2008 calendar with action from the Pocono 200 in Pennsylvania. ARCA, Round 8, PoconoSaturday, 14th February, 21:00Andros Trophy / Pilot Bike ReviewWith another winter of icy motorsport behind us, what better way to revel in it all one last time before the Sun puts his hat back on by catching our Andros Trophy and Pilot Bike review programme this week. Former F1 stars Alain Prost and Olivier Panis each returned to the series this year to take on the challenge of sliding hot hatches around purpose built circuits in the French Alps whilst a host of not-so-famous-names do likewise on two-wheels.
