RENAULT CAMPAIGN

The Hitech Junior team has confirmed that rapid Hungarian Tamas Pal Kiss will join its line up to contest the 2009 Formula Renault UK with Michelin Championship. The 18 year-old former Hungarian kart champion is no stranger to the 2.0 category having finished runner-up in last year’s Hungarian Formula Renault Championship.Now the teenager from Miskolc will join Filipino Marlon Stockinger and Briton Nick Yelloly in the Silverstone-based team as it makes its first appearance on the BTCC TOCA support package. Last Thursday both Yellolly and Pal Kiss underwent a successful test at the Northamptonshire Grand Prix circuit, and were joined by ex-Formula 3 racer Craig Reiff.

The David Hayle-run team will continue its extensive test programme over the next month with two days taking place at Brands Hatch this week.  The team, which competed in the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0 Championship and West European Cup last season, securing podium finishes in its first year, expects to announce additional drivers within the next few weeks.

The opening rounds of the 20-round championship get underway at Brands Hatch on 4/5 April. The remaining rounds take place on 25/26 April Thruxton, Hampshire; 16/17 May Donington Park (Nat), Leicestershire; 30/31 May Oulton Park, Cheshire; 13/14 June Croft, North Yorkshire; 4/5 July Silverstone (GP)(World Series by Renault), Northamptonshire; 1/2 August Snetterton, Norfolk; 29/30 August Silverstone (Nat) Northamptonshire; 19/20 September Rockingham, Northamptonshire; 3/4 October Brands Hatch (GP), Kent.
