Bikes: Two more for Tom

SHANE Parker has added his name to the list of competitors for Tom P. Madsen's Testimonial meeting at King's Lynn on Friday, March 20.

And also joining the vastly-experienced Australian at the Norfolk Arena next month, is King's Lynn's winter signing, Chris Schramm.

Parker, who will be starting his sixth successive season with Glasgow in 2009, has turned out in numerous Testimonial events over the years and usually produces a few 'party tricks' to keep the fans entertained.

Schramm will be dropping down to the Premier League with the Stars for the forthcoming campaign, and will also provide plenty of enjoyment for the local fans on his new home track.

Madsen is delighted with the latest two riders he's added to the field. He said: "I'm really pleased to get The Firestarter (Parker) signed-up for my meeting.

"We rode together for King's Lynn back in 2000 and he was always a great bloke to have in the pits. He's one cool guy!

"Since then we've had some good battles on the track when we've lined up on opposing teams, but we've always remained good friends.

"Schrammy should also prove to be another popular choice of rider for the event. He's a really nice lad and is very popular with the fans wherever he races.

"I've known Chris from when we both rode for Oxford a few years ago and I was very pleased when he agreed to turn out for my big night."

The line-up for the event is nearing completion now, but people are reminded that there are still some sponsorship opportunities available. Packages include: Main meeting sponsorship, individual rider and heat, rider mascot, plus tyre and fuel.

Also, as a reminder, Madsen will be attending the Speedway and Grasstrack Show on February 22, at The Sports Connexion, Ryton-On-Dunsmore, Coventry. The Dane will be on hand to answer questions on the day and also plans to have a range of Testimonial merchandise available to view and buy.
