Cars, Motor Cycles and Rock & Roll

A COYS First

A 1933 Rolls Royce, one of the largest collections of motorcycle trophies and a world famous guitar are some of the highlights of a unique auction, which has been put together by international Auction House COYS

The Auction, which will be held at the Royal Horticultural Halls in London on March 12th, will see three important sales in one and the auction house once again bucking the current economic trend. "We are known around the world for out international car sales which we hold in London and throughout Europe but this is the first time that we have combined cars, motorcycles and rock and roll," said Managing Director Chris Routledge. He added: " At a time when investors are looking to put their money into tangible assets we have decided to not only increase the number of auctions that we carry out every year but also to look at new auction areas. Motorcycles attract the same sort of collectors as cars and we believe that rock and roll fits in very well."

The auction house has set up a new 'ROCK' department which is headed up by Julius Thurgood, an authorative motoring auction market pundit whose first experiences with the electric guitar came way back in 1965 when he used to visit the Fenton Weill workshops in Turnham Green, close to his school in London. Julius will be assisted by expert, Melvyn Hiscock, who needs little introduction in the guitar world. Authorship of the seminal instructionbook 'Make your own Electric guitar' has guided countless guitarists through the trials and tribulations of guitar ownership and upkeep -Melvyn's commercial insight into the vintage instrument marketplace has been accumulated from a lifetime of travel and writing on the subject - his font of knowledge is unsurpassed in the genre and is an invaluableasset to the new departmentJulius Thurgood said: "
