Student gets Porsche placement

Ryan Kingshott is the latest motorsport student to be awarded a work placement with the Porsche Cars GB race team. Kingshott will spend Carrera Cup GB race weekends working on the VIP car entered by Porsche Cars GB.The work placement has been made available by Porsche Cars GB for the fifth year running in support of its membership of the Automotive Manufacturers' Racing Association Ltd. “We are pleased to again support motorsport education and give Ryan the chance to spend the race weekends working with the team,” says Marion Barnaby, motorsport co-ordinator for Porsche Cars GB. Eighteen-year old Kingshott, from West Sussex, is studying motorsport engineering at Northbrook College, and already has some experience of a race team. "I've done some work on the single-seater that the college team runs and I've also worked as a scrutineer and a marshal as a way of getting some experience of the sport. I just want to get out there and learn more in the Carrera Cup."Adam Pearson, the student who took the place in 2005, later joined leading Carrera Cup team Red Line Racing in a fulltime position. Meanwhile, 2006 student Ross Clements now has a fulltime role as motorsport co-ordinator at Porsche Cars GB.
