2009-spectacular year for Heritage GT

The Heritage Grand Touring Car Challenge is set for an exciting 2009 season with inclusion in the A1GP event at Brands in May. The series will also be supporting three F3 / British GT race meetings, the Snetterton BTCC event and the new Formula 2 weekend at Donington.

HGTCC features crowd-pleasing grids of sports, saloons and GT cars of the 1960’s and 1970’s. The big V8’s have more power than grip so the action is always fast and furious and the two driver format makes for great racing.

This year a number of new additions will be vying for position with the established stars of the series, these include a Jensen Interceptor, a Sebring MGB V8, a couple of modified Sunbeam Tigers and the ex. Andy Rouse Broadspeed Jaguar XJ12.

Sky Sports presenter, Tony Jardine, who shares an Aston V8 with Bob Searles is looking forward to the action. “There is always a great battle up front between the big V8’s and the modified Morgans and Sunbeams.Whilst further down the grid the faster Minis and Escorts fight it out with the less modified Jaguars and American Muscle cars. A heady mixture of fun for driver and spectator alike.”

Being a Series and not a Championship, the emphasis is on enjoyment, however even though races can be entered separately, priority is given to registered competitors for the featured events.
