Harvey targets back-to-back ..

Porsche Carrera Cup GB titlesTim Harvey is aiming to take back-to-back titles in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB after confirming plans to defend his crown with Red Line Racing, with backing from Nationwide Accident Repair Services, Loctite and Interactive Worldwide.."The plan is undoubtedly to defend the championship in style with Red Line Racing and try to win it again, with number one on the car," said Harvey. "We want to try and do an even better job than last year and win more races. Continuity is really important."Harvey, the most successful driver in the six-year history of the Carrera Cup GB, is determined to be even more competitive over the opening weekends of the season than he was in 2008, and believes that could be the key to retaining the title."By the end of last year we were as quick as anybody at any track," said the former BTCC champion. "But we've gone back over the data, particularly from the first half of the year, to see where we can improve. I hope that we can start 2009 even more competitively, which could give us an advantage later in the season."Harvey knows that he faces a lot of competition from 2008 rivals like Michael Caine and Tim Bridgman as well as the crop of new drivers joining the grid for 2009."Tim Bridgman and Michael Caine will start off the year as the main opposition, but drivers like the two Scholarship drivers will be quick young guys," said Harvey. "Tim won more races than anyone last year, but always in Carrera Cup there are surprises. I'm looking forward to it immensely. New season, new challenges and the enthusiasm is as great as ever."The 2009 season will mark the third year that Harvey has enjoyed backing from Nationwide Accident Repair Services PLC. "We're delighted to be supporting Tim again this season," said Michael Wilmshurst, Chief Executive of Nationwide. "We think the Carrera Cup is a fantastically well run series. Tim, the Red Line team and Porsche make our guests, be they customers or members of our team, very welcome at all events. We're sure it's going to be another exciting season."Kieran Bowden, Senior Product Manager, Henkel Ltd said: "We're very excited to be a part of Tim's challenge to retain the Porsche Carrera Cup GB title in 2009. Henkel's sponsorship of Tim Harvey through our Loctite brand is an extension of our vast involvement with motorsport from grass roots to Formula 1, from the Dakar Rally to Porsche Supercup. We're delighted to have an opportunity to be involved in Tim's 2009 season and look forward to helping him to back-to-back titles.
