France unveils plans for new F1 track

French authorities announced yesterday an agreement in principle for a new site west of Paris

Pierre Bedier, chairman of the departmental council of the Yvelines region unveiled the project designed by  Parisian architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte.

The 4.5km-long, 95-hectare site at Flins-Les Mureaux some 40 km north west of the capital will have seating capacity for a 120,000 crowd and is is expected to be ready in time for the 2011 season.

The final decision concerning the revival of the French GP will be made by Bernie Ecclestone.
