Tickets for the 2009 Silverstone Classic are now on sale. With full details on this year’s event at silverstoneclassic.com, the programme for this year’s festival from 24 to 26 July has now been fully confirmed, with over 20 historic races, more than 75 car clubs and 4,000 classic cars on display, as well as additional on and off-track entertainment from flying displays and funfairs to stunt bike shows and shopping malls.
Developed into one of the world’s most important classic racing festivals, the Silverstone Classic will ‘go live’ with not only spectacular on-track action during the three-day event, but with the addition of concerts on the Friday and Saturday nights. Legend Carlos Santana is confirmed as the headline act on Saturday 25 July, with further signings to be announced for the Friday night.
The Silverstone Classic provides some of the world’s most exciting and iconic racing for both competitors and spectators, from a special trophy celebrating fifty years of MINI, to pre-1963 GT and sports cars, Group C Le Mans Cars and Grand Prix Masters.
“The Silverstone Classic has established itself as one of the great classic racing festivals and a much anticipated event on the summer calendar,” says Ken Prichard Jones, director of the Silverstone Classic. “This is a classic racing event first and foremost, but designed to appeal to every family member. The addition of concerts means the spirit and festivities can continue into the evening, with dusk racing followed by concerts: this year’s Silverstone Classic will truly be rocking and racing.”
Silverstone Classic visitors can choose between daytime tickets, concert tickets or combined passes for daytime and concert events. Children 16 and under enter race days free (excluding concerts), accompanied by an adult. Ticket purchase options range from £25.00 for race-only day passes and £40.00 for concert-only tickets, to £79.00 for a full weekend race pass.
