Brazilian star joins endurance races while keeps eying Formula 1
Bruno Senna will mark his official start of this year's racing program with a new challenge. The Brazilian ace will compete in Catalonian 1000 Km, the opening round of the Le Mans Series scheduled for Montmelò circuit (Barcelona) on 3/4/5 April.
The Spanish race is just a part of Bruno intended program of adaption and preparation for Le Mans 24 Hours on 13-14 June. The 2008 GP2 Series runner-up will also be in action in Spa-Francorchamps 1000 Km, on 8/9/10 May. Early this month Bruno had already tried out the Courage-Oreca LC70 during the test session for the prestigious French endurance event. On Wednesday and Thursday this week Bruno will join again the French squad at Paul Ricard .
"This program and these races are something new to me but I view this as another step in the direction of my sole target, which is to race in Formula One as soon as possible”, reminded Bruno. "I wanted to be sure about which steps to take in this tricky year with so limited F1 testing and so asked the opinion of some of those people I would like to drive for when the time comes in F1. The answer was clear that this is good experience to gain and that it will keep me ready should my chance come next year, next month or even next week!”, concluded Bruno, who will line up along with French Stéphanie Ortelli in his long-distance races assault.
