Ricciardo lays down a marker

at Silverstone

Cooper Tires British F3 International Series points leader and double Oulton Park race victor Daniel Ricciardo proved his versatility today (Thurs) when he made the best of damp track conditions to top the times in testing at the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit.

Silverstone, venue for the next championship rounds on 3 May, saw Australian Ricciardo's Carlin-prepared Dallara-Volkswagen splash its way to a 2m 01.953s lap in this afternoon's fourth and final session - three-tenths inside the best time achieved by Ricciardo's closest rival on the day, and top British driver, Riki Christodoulou, in his Mercedes-powered Fortec Dallara.

Ulsterman Wayne Boyd bounced back from his Oulton Park crash to post sixth-best time, albeit 1.1s off the pace of his T-Sport team-mate Adriano Buzaid. Quickest of the three National Class runners in attendance was Team West-Tec's Russian racer Max Snegirev.
