Spring Performance Car Action Day

SHIFTS INTO OVERDRIVE AT CASTLE COMBE

Bristol car owners’ clubs are helping to make the Spring Performance Car Action Day at Castle Combe circuit on April 25 the most spectacular ever seen at the popular Wiltshire motorsport venue.

The first Action Day of the summer has switched into overdrive with a record 105 owners’ clubs from all over the South and West taking part, including Avon Sports & Classic Car Club, Bristol Skoda, Bristol RS Owners Club, Bath & Bristol Scoobies and the Avon Peugeot Sportscar Club.

The car club’s display space is fully booked, track sessions virtually sold out and while there are still a few track passes available these are expected to be snapped up quite quickly.

New this year is a special “drifting” session for enthusiasts to demonstrate their skills of car control powering sideways, while new High Performance sessions will feature cars of 200bhp and 500bhp.

There will also be the circuit’s popular “new to track” sessions for drivers who have never been on a circuit before, and as always driver behaviour will be closely monitored with “red card” rules for those who drive inconsiderately and spoil the enjoyment of others. The owners’ clubs taking part will be featuring an A-Z of performance cars and there will be a number of trade stands selling spares and accessories, while enthusiasts will enjoy a day of all-track action.

Many car clubs have booked their own track sessions while there will be strong competition to win the “Club Stand of the Show”.The Action Days are now hallmark events at Castle Combe circuit and provide an opportunity for clubs and owners to enjoy a huge variety of vehicles and to enjoy some performance driving under controlled conditions, with all the facilities that a modern motorsport venue has to offer.Track passes cost £35 on the day, or £30 in advance, while adult admission is £8 in advance or £10 on the day. Cars taking part must be street legal and comply with strict noise limits.

Track sessions run from 9am to 17.00.For further information visit the website www.castlecombecircuit.co.uk  built by racecar - or call 01249-782417.
