Geddie heads to Thruxton

Glynn Geddie and his Team Parker Racing squad are in preparations for rounds 3 and 4 of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Thruxton, Hampshire this weekend.

The Aberdeen-born race ace is currently tied for 1st with Michael Leonard in the Pro-Am 1 category and lying 6th in the overall standings after scoring points in both rounds 1 and 2 at Brands Hatch earlier this month.

"This is the first time I've raced at Thruxton and it's hard to get your head round it because it's just so quick", explained the Apex Tubulars-backed 18 year-old. "We tested there last week and, although we weren't where we wanted to be on the timesheets, came away with some useful data and it was good for me to get some experience of the track.

"It's going to be difficult, as ever, but I hope to build on what we started at Brands (Hatch) and bag some more points for the team and myself".

Thruxton Circuit, originally built in 1940 as a World War II airbase, is renowned ! for being the fastest circuit in the UK with only two braking points and the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars will be reaching speeds of up to 175mph on the back straight as they head up to the final chicane.

The meeting, which hosts the MSA British Touring Car Championship, will be broadcast live on ITV4 on Sunday from 11.30am - 6.00pm, with the Porsche Carrera Cup races commencing at 12.15pm and 5.30pm.
