IPSWICH boss Pete Simmons admitted he was frustrated with his side - despite their 48-42 win over Coventry. The result handed the Bees a point under the new league scoring system. Jarek Hampel top scored for the Witches with 12 and Edward Kennett scored the same for Coventry.  He said: "Once again I find myself saying we should have had more, its beginning to sound like a broken record and getting very frustrating."

SCOTT Nicholls is determined to retain his British title at Poole next Wednesday.Nicholls, who is sitting out the Elite League to reduce his schedule this season, is making a rare appearance on British shale. He said: "I underestimated what the British Final was. It isn't what it was ten years ago, but it's still the British Final and I'm proud to be the British Champion."

LAKESIDE are running their '999 Special' as part of their promotional efforts for Monday's televised clash with Coventry.All personnel from the emergency services or armed forces will be admitted free - and the club have also been offering discount vouchers for supporters.Promoter Stuart Douglas said: "This is our way of showing our appreciationto those who perform vital and often very difficult duties to make all ourlives safer."

BIRMINGHAM have made a double team change with Manuel Hauzinger and DarrenMallett joining the club.It will be Austrian rider Hauzinger's second spell with the Brummies, with reserve duo Ben Taylor and Daniel Halsey released.Promoter Graham Drury said: "I feel a lot happier with the way the team is set out and I'm looking forward to seeing how we perform against Redcar onWednesday."

STOKE have parted company with Glen Phillips after a run of disappointing scores so far this season.Phillips is replaced by veteran Mark Burrows who has signed a short-term deal - although promoter Dave Tattum has hinted that could be extended.He said: "I am currently speaking with several riders but if Buzz comes in and scores well, and other riders are under-performing, we may well have to re-think our plans."
