Aaron Morgan eager to improve after tough tests

 Rookie Driver Remaining Upbeat

Aaron Morgan, the young, paraplegic racing driver being sponsored by Adapted Vehicle Hire had high hopes he would finish further up the leader board as he competed in round six of the 2011 GAZ Shocks Production BMW Championship. Sadly, the race meet at the Oulton park circuit in Cheshire proved to be as hard as the last.

The weekend of the meet marked a landmark occasion for Aaron who celebrated his 21st birthday. Qualifying 28th on the grid, Aaron was about to face one of his toughest challenges so far this season.“Once again I got off to a bad start, an all too familiar story this season, but I was really determined to make up for this. As I made my way to the first corner I saw a small accident involving two cars, which I was able to avoid thanks to my poor start. I was making ground on the pack in front of me, but in my eagerness to make up lost time I ended up overdriving the track. This resulted in me losing speed and ground on the cars in front. The fact that overtaking was so difficult on the course didn’t help my endeavours and I finished the first race in 26th position,” commented Aaron.“Later in the day came the second race and I was able to get a much better start than I had earlier, so I felt optimistic that I could improve on my final position. As I approached the second turn, I was forced wide and was overtaken by the car behind. Again, I was too eager to make up ground and ended up using too much track and braking with a wheel on the grass which caused me to spin. This resulted in me being left well behind the group of cars that I was racing against. Towards the end of the race I encountered some issues with the auto clutch system that I use to help me change gears, slowing me down further.“When the chequered flag dropped signalling the end of the race I was really disappointed to finish in 31st position. I know once I address my starts and am able to stop myself from overdriving, I can give the competition a run for their money. This is my rookie season and I am still learning. Now I can’t wait for the next race at the Castle Combe circuit,” concludes Aaron.“Aaron has had a difficult run of things lately. The championship is highly competitive but Aaron maintains his positive outlook about his rookie season and strives to improve from race to race. We remain hugely impressed with his attitude and confidence” said Lorraine Farnon, Managing Director of Adapted Vehicle Hire.  “Everyone at AVH is rooting for him as he prepares himself for the next race”Keep up with Aaron’s race results and other events at the dedicated section on www.adaptedvehiclehire.comAaron is looking for further sponsorship for the season, if you are interested in supporting him please email  yamahaboy46@hotmail.co.uk
