BELLE Vue have re-signed Polish rider Lukasz Jankowski who is set to make his return to Kirkmanshulme Lane in the Aces’ home clash with Coventry on Monday.Jankowski, who rode for the club in 2007-08, comes in following the departure of Dawid Stachyra with the planned arrival of Borys Miturski off due to injury.Aces boss Jim Lynch said: “I know youngsters Kyle Howarth and Jason Garrity showed they were not out of place when we brought them into the side but Jankowski is much more experienced and that’s what we need on the run-in to the season.“There are several teams battling for a play-off place and Coventry are one of them. Three of our remaining seven league matches are at home and we have to win them all to have a chance of the play-offs.”

SWINDON have signed experienced Russian Sergey Darkin to take a reserve berth at Blunsdon.Darkin replaces the injured doubling-up duo of Josh Grajczonek and Chris Schramm having found himself without a club when Premier League Leicester made major mid-season changes to their team.Swindon co-promoter Gary Patchett said: “Sergey has a good pedigree, including a win over our own Scott Nicholls in the World Cup event at King's Lynn when he played a major part in helping his depleted nation through to the race-off.“We are hoping he can settle in quickly and do a solid job at reserve for us. Results have been disappointing but we are not sitting back and just seeing the season out, we are continuing to strive for improvement where we possibly can.”

NEWCASTLE suffered further injury woe in the final race of their 54-39 win over Workington, with Stuart Robson and Claes Nedermark both crashing out.Nedermark suffered knee damage whilst Robson was taken to hospital with a suspected punctured lung and damage to his arm – and the news will also be a blow to his Elite League club Lakeside.Incredibly Newcastle had already gone into their clash with the Comets without the other three members of their top five, with Mark Lemon, Derek Sneddon and Jason King already on the sidelines.Boss George English said: “This was a solid performance over the side currently third in the League, but then our bizarre bad run of luck hit us hard again and now we’re sweating on news of another pair of riders, in particular Stuart Robson to whom we all wish the very best.”

WORKINGTON reserve Kenny Ingalls has suffered suspected serious shoulder damage in a crash at Newcastle and seems set to join the Comets’ growing injury list. The American came to grief in his second outing of a meeting which the Premier League title-chasers started without Tomas Topinka, Peter Kildemand and Gary Irving – with Rusty Harrison also carrying a knee injury and James Wright only just back after a spell on the sidelines.A 39-54 defeat saw the Comets lose ground in the title race especially as rivals Glasgow won their Scottish derby with Edinburgh 58-32.Workington boss Tony Jackson said: “I just cannot believe the run of injuries we are having at the moment, we seem to finish every match with one rider less than we started with. I just hope that Kenny’s injury is not as bad as was initially feared because we really are running out of riders now!”(FIXTURES)
