Alex Walker Ready for Thruxton InterSteps Championship

The InterSteps Championship springs back into action and heads to Thruxton, Hampshire this weekend and Fortec Motorsport's Alex Walker is looking forward to getting back in the harness after the four-week break since Donington.Last time out the 16-year-old from Oldham came home with 4th, 2nd and 3rd place finishes, scoring healthy points to keep his championship campaign very much alive. This weekend however, Walker, who has finished on the podium in nine of the eleven races so far this season, is focusing on adding to his tally of four wins in this weekend's triple header, running in support of the British Truck Championship.Alex Walker:"The four-week gap has allowed me to reflect on Donington and prepare myself for this weekend. I enjoyed a couple of days at Celtic Manor in Wales to play golf with a few people which was really good and helped me stay focused, and I'm feeling very positive and ready for the challenge."Donington was a good experience for me to race in front of a large crowd but the result wasn't ideal. Although we came away with decent points and two podiums, I made a couple of mistakes but I hope to put them right and come back even stronger at Thruxton."Our on-track preparations for the weekend start with a 55-minute test session on Friday, so we'll see how we get on. Seeing as Thruxton has a series of very fast corners at the back of the circuit, and is known for being the fastest in the UK, I think tyre wear may come in to play slightly more than it has with the other races."InterSteps Championship: Rounds 12, 13 & 14:Qualifying: Saturday 10.40 (30 mins)Race 1: Saturday 14.45 (20 mins)Race 2: Sunday 11.20 (20 mins)Race 3: Sunday 16.05 (20 mins)
