Expanded TV deal for Australian GT Championship‏

The Vodka O Australian GT Championship races will be telecastinternationally this year with new TV deals recently confirmed by CategoryManager SPHERIX.TV3 New Zealand will air all 7 rounds of the 2011 series in its prime timeSunday afternoon motor sport program, while the series will also be seenthroughout the USA on SPEED Channel 2, and on MOTORWORLD, broadcastthroughout the Middle East, Indonesia and Europe.The new overseas exposure is in addition to the local rounds telecast on7Mate, ONE HD and SPEED Channel, which category spokesman Craig Denyer saidwas another shot in the arm for the sports car category."The series is in great shape, and the expanded TV coverage can only helpthe manufacturers, entrants and commercial partners get more bang for theirbuck," he said."We've been really surprised by the amount of interest in the Championshipsince Tony Quinn purchased the Category Management rights and I think the2012 season will really surprise.""A number of new cars have been purchased already, and we're fielding callsalmost daily from people who are interested in running in 2012."Australia's most exotic race cars will be heading to the Phillip IslandGrand Prix circuit over the Fathers day weekend in September for the fifthround of the Championship for two one hour races including pit stops.GT Championship PR Manager Matt MacKelden said he was pleased with thecurrent entry list, particularly the names of the co-drivers who will bejoining the regular drivers."The entry numbers have so far been really encouraging and the co driverslist is also expanding and pretty impressive."

To celebrate Fathers Day, fathers will be admitted free, adults $10 andfamilies $20 with paddock access free.
