(SPEEDWAY 1)EDINBURGH promoter Alex Harkess admitted Friday’s home defeat against Glasgow had proved to be a nightmare evening. The league leaders dominated on a heavy track, and romped to a 54-39 away win although they did lose Christian Henry with a shoulder injury. Nick Morris top-scored with 16 (paid 17) at reserve whilst Andrew Tully was the Monarchs’ top man on 14.Harkess said: “It was a night when everything we didn’t want to happen, did happen.”(SPEEDWAY 2)REDCAR’S Matej Kus has been handed a 28-day ban from British Speedway as he is withholding his services. The Czech Republic international missed the Bears’ home win over Glasgow on Thursday and was replaced by Kozza Smith as a guest.Promoter Brian Havelock said: “We are obviously disappointed that Matej has taken this decision especially as he has more than proved his ability in his debut season on Teesside. “We are entitled to a guest facility and David Howe of the Scunthorpe Scorpions is lined up to ride for us in a re-arranged Premier League fixture at Newport next Wednesday. Hopefully this matter can be resolved.”(FIXTURES)
