Team Aon look ahead to Knockhill

Team Aon head north of the border this weekend for rounds 19, 20 and 21 of the 2011 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship held at the Knockhill circuit near Fife.In the break between races the team had a productive test at the Snetterton circuit which has left drivers Tom Chilton, Andy Neate and Tom Onslow-Cole feeling even more positive heading into this weekend. It was a difficult weekend last time out at Snetterton, Chilton was plagued with an electrical problem which left him falling back into the clutches of his competitors throughout two of the three races. Onslow-Cole managed to score some good points for the team however Neate suffered from accident damage and retired from two of the three races. After a productive test at Snetterton a couple of weeks ago the team look forward to Knockhill where they will be able to put the Global Ford Focus through its paces at the 2.092km track. The circuit has welcomed touring cars since 1992 and is the only BTCC race which is held in Scotland. Speaking ahead of this weekend and reflecting on the recent test at Snetterton, Tom Chilton said, ‘Our car is great in fast corners however we have lacked a little in the slow speed corners which Knockhill has a lot of. However we worked on that during the test at Snetterton so we should find we’ve improved. We’re definitely going in the right direction with the development of this car.’Looking forward to Knockhill Andy Neate said, ‘The guys did some great work during the test at Snetterton, I was unable to make it but they seem to have done a lot of developing on the car. We’ve just had a shakedown with the car and it felt great – the suspension especially – so I’m looking forward to this weekend and all the hard work should pay dividends.’The first race of the weekend will get underway on Sunday at 11.45.
