Strong Sixth for Wainwright in Oulton Revised Race at Donington

 - National Superstock 600

The reschedule National Superstock 600 race from the cancelled Oulton Park round took place yesterday at Donington Park circuit. Josh Wainwright riding the Aye Gee Suzuki finished a very creditable sixth place over the ten lap race having qualified in 15th at Oulton Park.

The race today kept the grid positions they gained at Oulton and Josh rode a stunning race after gaining a fantastic start. The Aye Gee Suzuki rider was keen to get away with the leading pack in the early stages and by the end of the first lap he was lying in eighth place in the race and battling with James Lodge. He managed to get past Lodge and was soon sat in a comfortable sixth position and was unable to catch the front runners.

Josh said "I was a little worried about the race here at Donington as I've been struggling a bit here all weekend with power issues and didn't know if I would be able to get a good result. Thankfully I managed to get a great start and pull it in tight into the first corner, I knew I'd made up some places but didn't realise how many. I just got myself settled into a rhythm for the next few laps and I didn't want to do anything stupid. I had a bit of a battle with Lodgy and managed to make a move on him but by this point I could see the leading pack had pulled a gap and with it only being a ten lap race I knew I just had to settle for sixth. It was a good result and I'm pleased with it and hope I can do similar again tomorrow for the next race."
