Regalia was impressive at Mugello Italian F3 test

Team Ghinzani´s Argentinean driver set the fastest lap of Italian Formula 3 championship´s test, which was held at Mugello  on Wednesday.

After his podium finish at Vallelunga, Regalia was the fastest man on the track at Mugello. This collective testing meant a first contact for drivers and teams with Mugello, a very fast track which will be the penultimate venue of 2011 season.

Regalia set the best lap, 1:41.212, in the afternoon just seven thousands ahead of Brazil´s Víctor Guerin. His time is a new record for Italian Formula 3 cars at Mugello. “In the morning, on old tires, my Dallara-FPT Racing was suffering from understeer yet, mainly in fast bends. However, in the afternoon, we made set-up changes and my car improved a lot. Using my second set of fresh tires, I managed to complete an almost perfect lap”, Regalia told afterwards.

These results, he explained, “are useful because after my podium they are a morale boost. I approach very confident my next meeting at Mugello. There my family is supporting me, and they will be a help too. However, I am not overconfident, because during current season almost every meeting was different from collective testing”.

Both Mugello races are scheduled on October 1st-2nd.
