Difficult day for  Ayrton Badovini hindered by technical problems in qualifying. Superbike debut for  Xavi Fores. Good result in the Superstock with  Barrier in third and fifth for Zanetti.Today was the first day of testing at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, Italy for the  BMW Motorrad Italia Superbike Team . The young Spaniard, Xavi Fores made his debut alongside Ayrton Badovini.Ayrton set the eighth fastest time in morning practice, then suffered technical problems in the afternoon qualifying session that prevented him doing better than fourteenth.Technicians have now found the cause of the problem and Ayrton is ready to improve his grid position in tomorrow’s qualifying.Xavi, meanwhile, has been familiarising himself with the Superbike machine that he rode for the first time at the track today.The  Superstock team were content that Sylvain Barrier set the third fastest time, just a few tenths off the provisional pole man Danilo Petrucci. Lorenzo Zanetti, who currently occupies second place in the FIM Superstock Cup, is sitting in fifth.Serafino Foti, sporting director of BMW Motorrad Italia Superbike Team at the end of the practice said: "This afternoon we had some technical problems and Ayrton was unable to get the good feel for the bike that he had this morning. I am convinced that tomorrow we will return to the top ten and we will try to prepare for the best possible race on Sunday.Xavi has really struggled but it is understandable as it is the first time he has been on the Superbike. We'll see tomorrow.We are quite pleased with the outcome of the Superstock. We are much closer than on other tracks. We are confident for tomorrow and especially for Sunday's race."Superbike: 1° J.
