A top five 5 Petit Le Mans finish and best rookie team for Rebellion

After having secured the Petrol LMP1 pole position and 6th place on the grid, REBELLION Racing team was confident for the 14th Petit Le Mans race.The first hours of the race perfectly matched the team’s expectations with Andrea Belicchi battling at the front of the race for second place with the Oreca Peugeot, aided by brilliant strategy calls by the team in the management of the safety car periods in the early stages of the race.After 2h30, a contact in the traffic with a GT Ferrari sent the #12 Lola-Toyota into the gravel at turn 5 of the Road Atlanta circuit with a damaged rear left wheel and bodywork.  Andrea Belicchi was able to recover the car to the pits for repairs by the team.  The team changed the rear end and front bodywork and Neel Jani was sent back on track with fresh tyres. The #12 Lola-Toyota lost seven laps with this incident.Neel and Nico Prost recovered from 10th to 5th place having never giving up during their stints. They suffered no mechanical issues and only had to add fuel and change tyres for the rest of the race. Bart Hayden, REBELLION Racing Team Manager :« The car ran faultlessly and showed strong mechanical reliability and good pace.  The crew were exemplarory in the pitstops and the engineers made all the right strategy calls.  The final classification could have been better for us, but that kind of race incident is part of racing.
