Team mate Chilton was also piling on the pressure as he was fast catching Nash in front. With Chilton held up it was team mate Neate who then started to close in on Chilton during the third lap. With Chilton and Neate so close to one another Neal quickly caught the duelling pair; Neal got past Neate a few laps later and started to chase Chilton. Meanwhile Onslow-Cole was still trying to a find way past Jackson however the Motorbase driver defended well and Onslow-Cole finished in third position – the third podium of the 2011 season in the new Global Ford Focus. Chilton made an impressive overtaking manoeuvre on the final lap to clinch fifth position while Neate finished in ninth. Tenth place was the chosen reverse gird number which means Neate will start on the front row for the final race of the weekend. Speaking about his third position, Tom Onslow-Cole said “It’s really great to be on the podium here at Brands. We have definitely made a step forward with the development of this car since Rockingham - I had a different set up to the other guys and my car felt great during the race, I’m looking forward to the final race of the day.”
