Regalia finishes in Italian top ten

Facu Regalia finished 8th on Sunday Starting from fourth row on the grid and with a new engine, after yesterday´s one suffered a water pump failure, Team Ghinzani´s Argentinean driver struggled to achieve 8th place at the end.

Facu Regalia had another hard journey during today´s race at Mugello. Regalia, who achieved his first pole position yesterday and then he was forced to retire en race 1 because of a water pump failure, hasn´t had an easy day.

Regalia was 8th on the starting grid, because Sunday´s race is a reverse grid of qualifying results, and 19 years old was also using a new engine, It wasn´t a help either because Mugello is a fast track where an engine with good running in is required. “I made a good start, because I have nearly overtaken both Edoardo Liberati and Michael Lewis. However, Prema´s driver blocked me and I nearly went out. I was eight just following my rival´s slipstream, but I couldn´t to overtake them. My engine was a problem under these circumstances. And understeer increased in the slipstream at the end too”, Argentinean driver explained afterwards. Finally Regalia took 8th place, which wasn´t a consolation after he was close to winning yesterday.

Regalia is now looking forward for next collective test of Italian Formula 3 championship, which is held at Monza in three days time. “I´m working hard, and my pole position proves that. Just bad luck prevented me to achieve my maiden win too.

Next Wednesday we need to keep our hard working. It´s mandatory to get a good engine there, and we must improve it during collective testing. Monza is a kind of track which I like. I was fastest in preseason”, Regalia told. Last meeting of 2011 season is scheduled on October 15th-16th..
