Camier and Haslam Compete in 2011 Scott Trial

MRS Team Ready to 'Rock 'n' Roll'

22nd October 2011

Once again it is that time of year, Scott Trial time, the famous trial which has decided the difference between man and mouse for nearly a decade is back again. Saturday the 22nd October will see 210 riders leave the 'start field' in a test of man and machine to see who can take the illustrious win.

Malcolm Rathmell Sport will once again be supporting MRS Sherco rider and local man around the Richmond (North Yorkshire) area Jonathan Richardson. JR attempts his third Scott this year with a ninth in his first one and a fantastic fourth place last year the young 19-year-old will be hoping for good things this year.

In contrast is the elder statesman of the bunch Wayne Braybrook, the 41-year-old, who is a one-time winner of the famous trial is eager to gain a good result this year. Former Scott winner Braybrook and and has been in recent years concentrating on running his Enduro Events (www.rideoffroaduk.co.uk) and also taking part in some Extreme Enduros will be hoping his Scott knowledge and Enduro training will work in his favour.

Making up the MRS Sherco team for the Scott is local rider Richard Sadler who has just turned 18 gained the Best Newcomer Award on his first attempt last year. He will be hoping to better his result from last year in the hope to take the 'Team Award' once again, MRS Sherco riders in 2010 finished a fantastic 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

MRS Sherco have two very special riders this year, both World Superbike riders sharing the same name. Leon Camier is back for his second attempt at the Scott Trial after competing in 2008 and running out of time just before petrol check four (out of six) the ex British Superbike Champion is keen to complete the course in the allocated time. He is hoping his time spent in Andorra and having some thoughts on the trial is going to help his cause.

Joining him this year for his first attempt at the trial is factory BMW World Superbike rider Leon Haslam, Haslam is making his first appearance at the Scott and after hearing numerous stories decided to bite the bullet and have a go at it. The two Leon's will have a pretty good pit crew on Saturday in the form of Eurosport commentator James Whitham.

The question is - will they manage it? Will they finish? And which one will win the battle of the two Leon's?!

It's great for the sport that big names such as these are prepared to 'have a go' at another sport and especially the hardest one-day trial in the World!

MRS Sherco would like to wish all their Sherco riders the best of luck at this year's event and hope to see you all at the finish!
